Time That Deepens the Work
A deliberately smaller practice — so there's room for longer visits, and the understanding deepens every time we meet.
Hour-long appointments allow me a deep understanding of your entire life.
Compare that to a 15-minute med check at an insurance-based clinic, and you can understand the benefits.
At my concierge practice we both have time to notice what’s changed and why, instead of renewing a prescription and moving on.
My clinic allows for significant flexibility. If you are going through a tough stretch, I can see you multiple times a week, or every day.
For folks with long-term, complex psychiatric presentations, that flexibility can be the difference between going in-patient, and staying at home.
I carry no-more than 100 patients at any time.
The standard insurance-based psychiatrist is expected to sees more-than 800!
By carrying a reduced patient load, I reserve the time and energy I need to provide empathetic care.
Personalized Diagnosis & Treatment of ADHD
Here, an evaluation is the beginning of care.
If the evaluation lands on ADHD, your treatment can stay here. There’s no need to find one office for a test, one office for a therapist, and one office for a prescriber. When you’re evaluated by a psychiatrist, you get all three in one room.
Some folks just want medications, but the gold-standard of treatment is psychotherapy and psychopharmacology with a single doctor.
And if the evaluation lands somewhere else — anxiety, sleep, mood — that gets treated seriously too, in the same relationship.
No one refers out with a shrug, here.

What a full ADHD evaluation involves
Dr. Kavin Fatehchand, MD, PhD

ADHD is a clinical diagnosis built from a structured history, not a single test. No online quiz, brain scan, or rating scale makes the diagnosis on its own. Rating scales measure how severe your symptoms are, not whether they add up to ADHD.
What I aim to understand is how those symptoms fit into your life story, from your childhood to today. In many cases, the patterns have been present early and cause real impairment in more than one setting — work, home, relationships.
For most adults, a structured clinical interview with a physician is the direct route to diagnosis and treatment. A multi-session neuropsychological battery — commonly $4,000 - $6,000 in the NYC market — is not usually where you need to start.
Anxiety, sleep, or depression can look exactly like ADHD. Sometimes an honest evaluation concludes it isn't ADHD — that's not gatekeeping; it's the evaluation doing its job.

As an MD-PhD, I bring a scientist's eye to your mental health.
Before I was a psychiatrist, I was a scientist doing my doctoral research in cancer immunology; asking why a cell behaves the way it does, what sits underneath the surface? That’s not so different from the art of psychiatry.
Patients tend to say that I felt like a real person. I hope you come to consider me a thinking partner, rather than a provider. When you have a problem at work, in a relationship, or somewhere else, my office is a safe space where we can tackle your challenges, together.
You are more than a diagnosis, and my practice reflects that.

"I finally want to get evaluated for real"
If you've suspected something for years and never had a doctor sit with the whole story, let's do that — carefully, at your pace, in conversation.
No rushing to a label. We start by understanding what's driving this, together.
